You wish to know what the best practice is to create a content item where applicants can click a file and download it, then upload it back into the same process element once complete.
A possible solution:
You can find a quick video detailing a possible solution and attached it to this article below.
It is important to note, that to use the feature I have included in the video, you will need to give the document a URL. I have included instructions on how to accomplish this below:
How can I create a hidden webpage using the Document Center?
It is possible to create a public webpage on your site that is not accessible directly from the navigation menu. This can be done by creating a public document to emulate a webpage as follows:
1. Navigate to Site > Document Center. Click " New Document".
2. Create the desired page content in the WYSIWYG editor in "Option 1". Save.
3. View the document by clicking on the "view icon" next to the document's title. Copy the File ID number from the URL. This may look similar to the following: File_ID=32458
4. Use the following URL for your shareable link: http://[your domain]/index.cfm?FuseAction=Abroad.ViewDocument&File_ID=[fileID#]
In my example, this would be: http://abc-test.terradotta.com/index.cfm?FuseAction=Abroad.ViewDocument&File_ID=32458
This URL will be accessible to anyone with whom you share it, essentially allowing you to create a webpage without including it in your site's navigation menu as it would be if built in Site > Site Builder.
